Snoopy’s Nose. Approximately 5 miles west of FSB Moore. A 5 man sniper/support team (I was carrying the radio) on 5/9 was inserted into this area one morning. They dropped us into the middle of a NVA(?) BN HQ. We got out by the skin of our teeth, and the Colonel sent in a platoon from Delta with 1st Lt. Larry Strayer (an engineer, and a hell of an officer) commanding… to see what we had stirred up. Larry and one other were killed that day. They ended up napalming the area.
